History of the Department
The following individuals have served as heads of the Department of Commercialization of Scientific Innovations at the Bukhara State Medical Institute:

- 2023 – Sherov Sherzod Abdurasulovich
- From 2024 to present – Kudratova Shakhlokhon Kakhkhorjonovna, appointed as head of the department
About the Department
The Department of Commercialization of Scientific Innovations was established to support the implementation of Paragraphs 1 and 3 of Presidential Decree PQ-3698 (May 7, 2018), “On additional measures to improve mechanisms for introducing innovations into sectors of the economy,” as well as Order No. 594 of the Minister of Higher and Secondary Special Education (July 5, 2018).
Based on these documents, the department’s Charter for Commercialization was approved.
Purpose and Functions of the Department
The department works to support and commercialize scientific research and innovative developments. Its main functions include:
- Organizing and coordinating research activities
- Holding competitions for scientific and innovative projects funded by the Innovation Fund
- Providing material and technical support to scientific laboratories (equipment, materials, kits)
- Developing a list of products and services, including intellectual property created through university innovations, and formalizing them abroad through copyright or patents
- Selecting researchers and students for scientific research and experiments within innovative projects, and arranging short-term scientific internships (up to 1 month) in leading research and production organizations, including overseas
- Attracting income from the commercialization of innovative products, along with foreign investments, grants, and charitable funds
- Managing Innovation Fund finances, including depositing funds in banks
- Conducting systematic monitoring to ensure proper use of allocated funds
- Introducing and commercializing scientific developments created by university scientists into various economic sectors
- Ensuring research work is conducted through extrabudgetary grants and economic contracts
- Selling scientific and technical products developed from research results to customers and consumers
