General Information
Malik Amonov is a distinguished scientist and educator known for his expertise in immunology, microbiology, and public health. He currently works as the Vice-Rector for Scientific and Innovative Affairs at the Bukhara State Medical Institute. Through his strong academic background, international experience, and active teaching role, he plays an important part in enhancing scientific development, improving education quality, and strengthening research capacity at the institute.
His scientific work mainly focuses on immunology, vaccine development, and antibiotic resistance. He has contributed to major research projects, including the development of live attenuated vaccines against Streptococcus pneumoniae, DNA vaccines targeting Vibrio cholerae, and studies on genetic resistance mechanisms in Acinetobacter baumannii. These projects address some of the most critical global public health challenges.
For more than 10 years, he has been involved in academic and scientific work in Malaysia, Japan, and Uzbekistan. During his time at Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin, he served as a lecturer, research fellow, and postdoctoral researcher, publishing over ten research articles in international scientific journals.
Today, he mentors researchers, master’s students, and PhD candidates, several of whom have successfully completed their theses under his supervision. His research on genetically engineered vaccines, NETosis (neutrophil extracellular traps), and bacterial infections is widely appreciated.
Malik Amonov is highly respected in both national and international scientific communities for his dedication, innovative approach, independent thinking, and strong work ethic.
He has received government-funded grants from Malaysia, Japan (MEXT), and Uzbekistan, and has been honored with several awards in recognition of his scientific contributions.
